For every book in this long-running, highly successful series, Kaffe has picked a sometimes unexpected but always eye-catching location in which to photograph his new collection of quilts. In this, his twenty-eighth book in the series—Quilts at an English Manor House—he has chosen a true gem. What is more, it provides the perfect foil for this stunning collection of new quilts, beautifully photographed on location by Debbie Patterson.

Kaffe, assisted by Liza Prior Lucy and Brandon Mably, has created an array of quilts that showcase the singularly beautiful fabrics that he, Brandon, and Philip Jacobs create each year. The breadth of the color range in these fabrics and the carefully orchestrated print styles are at the heart of his quilts’ unique appeal. The quilts range from bold showstoppers, like his Funfair quilt on the cover with its rich large-scale florals, to delicate charmers, like Liza’s delightful hand-stitched baby quilt, inspired by Indian Kawandi-style patchworks.

In addition to the quilt designs, Quilts at an English Manor includes detailed step-by-step instructions, accompanied by flat shots of each quilt with the relevant block or quilt assembly diagram, while a how-to section offers more detailed guidance – quilt designs range in ability from simple to more complex designs.
